Hiring Virtual Assistant – Effective Ways To Get The Best

Small Business Outsourcing

When Australian online marketers are thinking of hiring virtual assistant today, these employees are starting to ask if they can be paid using Australian dollars because of the strong value of this currecy at the moment. This currency is something that is predictable and you will know how much you will allot for compensating the services of your VA and it is better to use it if you will pay your assistants in US dollars.

When looking to hire help complete some SEO services, another couple of areas that you might look at, is looking at local schools. This is more so when I’m hiring people to come into my office. I really do like Mums to come work in my office. They’re very reliable people, they have kids, they might already have gone through working their way up the corporate ladder, they just want a little something on the side to keep themselves busy and active. Mums work really well if you’re looking to hire someone to work in your office. They’re really good.

If you offer higher virtual assistant rates, you can surely find a lot of great players out there. An example of which is someone that has worked in my company. She already had years of solid experience and just resigned because she needs to take care of her family as well. She already went to another company but I can say that she was one of my star players. She took notes of our meeting, did a lot of documentation, system implementation and the like. She’s really great at what she does and I really appreciate it.

Unis can also be a good alternative, I use it when I want someone to work on a web 2.0 task or video. As for everything else, you can check out SEEK. I already included tips like these in my outsourcing training DVDs.

Are you looking forward to hire overseas, If so, then you can check out Jobstreet where you can see a lot of employers posting their job openings. You can also go to bestjobs.ph, the one owned by John Jonas.

Another good place to go to is Remote Staff. They have both US and Australian based office which is great. What’s great with RemoteStaff is that they will be doing these hiring tasks for example, hiring virtual assistants. You just send your job description and other details and they will help you out find the right people to work for you. They select top three applicants, go through the whole process with you and just pay $200, they’ll take care of the payroll in your behalf as well.

These people from Remote Staff work as a bridge between you and the job applicants. They cover all human resource related tasks and all you need to do is to sign an agreement, which is quite handy in my opinion, and works well for an SEO company like me.

Another one I’ve used is Outsourcers to the Philippines, also known as Hubport Interactive. They are a Philippines based outsource company. So you get an employee dedicated to you, so that’s your one full time employee they’ll find for you. That person actually goes into their office and works in their office. They’ve got a team environment, not one person working from home in the Philippines, they go into the office with a team and have all the office culture and all those sorts of benefits, but they are assigned to you personally.

Tim Ferriss in his book The 4-Hour Work Week talks a lot about using outsource companies. The way that he refers to the outsource companies is that you have a project manager there who you give a task to and they go and find the person in their company to do that task for you. So they have a web developer, an article writer, a virtual assistant, a team of people who are shared across all the company’s clients. The issue that I have with that is you’re never building a relationship because there’s never consistency of work.

One person in their team of graphic designers might do a fantastic job for you. The next time you pitch them or give them an out task for another design job, they’ll get somebody else in their design team and you’ll get a completely different outcome. So I’ve found it better off getting individual people, hiring virtual assistant on an ongoing basis rather than a team that Tim talks about. But Hubport, also called Outsourcers to the Philippines, gives you that benefit of a team environment but still having that one on one relationship with a staff member.
